Lilian Sarah Hallett

(1894 - ????)

Lilian Sarah was baptised at St John Baptist church, Bridgwater on 14 December 1894. Her parents are recorded as John Thomas and Emily Hallett. The family were living at Railway Parade, Bridgwater and Lilian's father was employed as a sail maker.

Lilian was joined by sister Elsie Amelia in 1896. Elsie's baptism indicates that the family had moved to Barclay Street, Bridgwater and that her father was still working as a sail maker. Interestingly, Elsie's mother was recorded as Annie.

A further sister Ethel May was baptised in November 1898. The families address was recorded as 59 Barclay Street and John was still employed as a sail maker.

At the time of the 1901 census Lilian is still living at 59 Barclay Street but is recorded as Lilly. Also in the property is her sister Ethel, grandparents John and Amelia Pearm and their daughter Emma Pearm, who is recorded as single. A further grandchild of John and Amelia Pearm was also resident, 13 year old Henry Crawford.

It is not certain if Emma Pearm is Lilian,s mother and if not where her mother might be. Lilian's father has yet to be located at this time but could have been taking part in the war in S Africa.

Lilian's other sister Elsie was living with her other grandparents George and Joanna Hallett at 2 Railway Parade, Bridgwater.

The following tree demonstrates the connection with Lilian and my line. George Hallett and John Hallett, both appeared to move around the country together.
