Elizabeth Creedey

(1843 - ????)

Elizabeth is believed to have been born in Bridgwater, Somerset during 1843; her parents were James and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth's sister Emma was born in 1845.

At the time of the 1851 census Elizabeth was recorded as an eight year old scholar living at Bakers Court, Eastover, Bridgwater. Also in the property were her parents and younger sister Emma. Her father was employed as a labourer.

Emma Married Isaac Dibble at a date as yet unknown.

At the time of the 1871 census, Elizabeth was living with her husband and daughters Mary 6, Emma 2 and Lilly A 8 months at 12 Polden Street, Bridgwater. The property was shared with two other families, both of whom were headed by lawyers. Elizabeth's father, and sister and family were living a few doors away at No 15 Polden Street.

She is next seen in the 1881 census living at 5 Wellington Road, Bridgwater with the following children: Emma Ellen 12, Elizabeth Hannah 6, Isaac james 5, william Charles 3 and one year old Henry John. Elizabeth's husband Isaac was away at sea and recorded as master of the Bridgwater based vessel 'Polly' (in Swansea on census night).

At the time of the 1891 census Elizabeth was living at 16 Bristol Road, Bridgwater with her 80 year old father James Creedy, husband Isaac and children William 13, Henry 11 and daughter Lilly? (age unclear). Isaac is recorded as deaf. Her sister Emma and family were living next door at No 15

Elizabeth's father is believed to have lived until the age of 103.
